With the new, 2014 K1600GTL, BMW Motorrad want to reinvent two-wheeled travel with its revolutionary engine. The inline 6-cylinder unit now develops 160 HP at 7,750 RPM and has 175 Nm (129 lb-ft) of torque at its disposal from 5,250 RPM.
Furthermore, 70% of the torque is available from 1,500 RPM which makes this bike one of the easiest to ride. As it became customary these days at BMW, 3 riding modes are also available, “Rain”, “Road”and “Dynamic”.
Other features include integral ABS, Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), a chassis with duolever and paralever suspension, Electronic Suspension Adjustment II (ESA II), new dials, bigger seat area, armrests and heated backrest, keyless ride and central locking, Hill Start Control and a world first: integral antenna for optimum radio reception.
Amongst the options list you’ll find low seats (750 mm, 29.5 in.) or high seats (810 mm, 31.9 in.), impact protection for side-cases, storage compartment organizer for top-case lid, high windscreen, twin Akrapovic sport silencers (mufflers), BMW Motorrad Navigator V and BMW Motorrad Communication System.
