As the title says it, BMW Motorrad is the first ever motorcycle maker to join the multi-brand online ordering portal partslink24, allowing independent workshops to purchase original parts and accessories directly from authorized BMW Motorrad dealers.
Until now, the partslink24 service was available only for the automobile segment, but BMW Motorrad managed to break the ice and join the party. The bike maker is now offering parts for models ranging from the 1948 R24 to the latest touring machines.

All the original BMW Motorrad parts, data, and images displayed on partslink24 are based on the motorcycle manufacturer’s original spare parts catalog to be easily identifiable.

Also, for easy parts searching, the presentation of the individual parts catalogs has been largely simplified, thanks to the convenient categorization of vehicles through the entry of chassis number and searching using keywords and/or parts number.

The results will offer independent workshops a comprehensive description of the products on offer in both words and pictures. In many cases, all the parts required to service a particular model will be listed as soon as you enter the part number.

This neat option simplifies and speeds up the ordering process. The latter will be processed by the authorized BMW Motorrad dealers and dispatched directly to the independent workshop.

There are already 24 BMW dealers and subsidiaries in Germany that are represented on the portal and can take orders. BMW Motorrad is also represented on partslink24 in other European markets, such as France, the Netherlands, and the UK.

We can only hope that other motorcycle manufacturers will follow BMW’s example and join the platform to aid small bike shops. Starting up an independent motorcycle garage is still hard business these days due to the exclusivity of this kind of transportation device and its scarcity compared to other four-wheeled vehicles.
