BMW Might Build 4 Series Four-Door Coupe

As you might have noticed, the four-door coupe slice of the market is on its way of becoming more than just a niche. This means that more and more automakers are willing to set foot on this island. The latest rumor related to this involves BMW who, according to BMW Blog, is preparing to introduce a four-door coupe version of its (again rumored) 4 Series.

As previous media reports indicate, the German carmaker will introduce a new line of vehicles, situated between the 3 and the 5 Series. The new models, which will use the 4 Series designation, will take the form of a sedan, coupe, convertible, as well as the aforementioned one. They are expected to be built around a dynamic image and should offer expressive styling cues.

Now that we’ve seen its family tree, it is time to zoom in on the potential 4 Series four-door coupe. The vehicle will come with a swooping roofline, which will allow it to offer a special package. However, BMW isn’t doing any pioneer work here, as the vehicle should be a perfect rival for the Audi A5 Sportback, a vehicle that can already be ordered.

We have to remember that BMW is already on its way of introducing a four-door coupe, in the form of the 6 Series Coupe, a vehicle that will hit the market next year.

Before we end the story, we’ll underline the fact that it is still unclear if the aforementioned 4 Series four-door cope is, in fact, the rumored 3 Series GT.
