If you’re following the 2014 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, and you’re an automotive enthusiast, you probably already know that Audi bragged a little, showcasing their laser headlights at the show and claiming that they want to be the first manufacturer to use them in production cars. Yeah, right!
Seeing as the Ingolstadt-based company wants to steal their thunder, BMW quickly reacted on Instagram, posting a brilliant message and a photo of the i8 laser headlights in response to all this Audi madness.

The text says: “Sorry we didn’t present our #laserlight concept from 2011 at the #CES2014. We’re too busy with series production.” Apply cold water to the burned area!

As I already told you, BMW announced that the i8 will be having laser headlights when it will come out and the production of the new plug-in sports car has already begun, meaning Audi’s too late to do anything about it (not to mention that their system will also only be using laser for the high beam, LED lights taking care of low beam, bringing nothing special to the table).
