Fast wagons are a big part of the drag racing scene in Europe, and the Audi RS6 is at the center. However, this next video proves the quattro conqueror has lost its mojo.
This weekend, Carwow features a shootout between three power wagons, the Mercedes-AMG E63 S, the new Audi RS6, and the Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid. And because BMW doesn't make that type of car yet, its slot is taken up by the M8 Gran Coupe, which is admittedly expensive but also more practical than a regular M8.

Besides the shape, it feels like these German automakers wrote their homework during a study session because they're the same. All have twin-turbo V8 engines, all-wheel-drive, and auto gearboxes for the quickest possible launches. However, the Porsche Panamera is the chubby kid from the rich family.

More specifically, this older Turbo S configuration adds an electric motor and battery, giving it the most power in this drag race but also a lot of extra weight. According to the European specifications displayed by Carwow in the video, the M8 Gran Coupe is lighter at 2,054 kilograms (4,528 lbs). And with 625 PS from its 4.4-liter, it stands a chance of winning everything.

The Audi RS6' 4.0-liter makes 600 PS, which sounds like a decent chunk of change. However, we've seen it lose drag races over and over again. And finally, we arrive at the E63 S, which somehow gets the honor of being the least expensive car. In a recent drag race, it proved to be almost as fast as the AMG flagship 4-door, the GT 63 S.

So, what exactly happens? Well, the Audi loses badly, and the BMW wins quite convincingly. Normally, we suggest skipping past the rolling race, but this one is actually quite exciting, as the V8 monsters sail past 170 mph (274 km/h).
