The BMW M division and Mercedes-Benz's AMG have been going at it for around 40 years. Even so, in the early days, the competition wasn't so fierce. But over the years, some models have easily beaten their competitors, through remarkable differences of looks or performance.
These days though, the similarities are amazing and, in order to be able to make a difference, you'd really have to try hard. Chris Harris is testing the BMW F12 M6 and the Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG in order to find out, which is best. Even if they are fitted with engines that produce over 500 HP, and they are close to the performance of a 911 Turbo, these cars can also be comfortable, and allow you to cruise, even for a whole continent if you'd like.
In the end, Chris Harris would choose the M6. It looks better, drifts better (even though the SL has more torque) and is more comfortable. The difference is really small though and any of these cars would make you happy. It's just that the SL is, simply put, ugly. Sorry Mercedes, must try harder.
