The M6 Gran Coupe must be the pinnacle of bipolar cars. When you first lay your eyes on it, you think it's a beast, a monster, another 'too aggressive' car, faithful to the way things are going in the auto industry these days.
It's massive and let's you know that it's big and you might think that the 560 HP and 680 Nm (501 lb-ft) of torque churned out by the 4.4-liter V8 might not be enough. And then you get in and you might even hit a circuit and you'll be amazed.

On the way to the track you'll find the first personality of the car: the luxurious, comfortable side. Stick it in Comfort mode and you'll feel like you're in heaven, almost better than a 7 Series. Alcantara everywhere, the best leather you can think of and quality finishes even on the doors, that's what the GC is all about.

Then you'd arrive at the track and see the second personality: the track monster. The guys from Road & Track couldn't believe that this massive 4-door coupe could be so good on the track as previous reviewers said. So they took it for 6 tracks in 6 days to make sure.

The tracks chosen were in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin (Road America), Belding, Michigan (Grattan Raceway), Brasleton, Georgia (Road Atlanta), Garrettsville, Ohio (Nelson Ledges Road Course), Greencastle, Indiana (Putnam Park Road Course) and Lexington, Ohio (Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course).

All of them proved to be perfect for the M6 Gran Coupe a paradox car that will keep up with 900 HP Nissan GT-Rs on such tracks, will corner like Porsche 911s and, at the same time, will keep you and 4 other occupants, completely safe and comfortable on a long trip.

We recommend reading the whole test at Road&Track.
