Jumping from one vibrator to another on the Nurburgring is all fun and games, until a crash that results in injuries and perhaps totaled vehicles ruins the adventure for everybody.
Unfortunately, this is the way in which yesterday's Touristenfahrten public session ended. A five-machine crash at Hohe Acht saw one rider being airlifted to the hospital after being seriously injured, while two other bikers were also hurt, albeit not to the same extent.

Aside from the three motorcycles, the accident also involved a car, whose driver was fortunate enough to walk away from the crash.

As a Nurburgring Facebook Group shows, the Polizei (German Police) are now looking for witnesses, as the accident is believed to have taken place after an E39 BMW M5 spilled coolant onto the track - the image showing the medical helicopter at the scene of the crash also comes from this group.

The police have reportedly seized the vehicle and are looking for further clues in this investigation. Keep in mind that we're talking about serious injuries and material damage here.

Thanks to the racetracker website, a service that takes photos of cars lapping the Nordschleife, which drivers can then purchase online, we can see the M5 in question, which uses Spanish plates - you have a few images in the gallery to your right, but we've blurred out the faces of the driver and passenger.

We've also added a video below, with the clip being filmed from inside an E46 BMW M3 that passed through Hohe Acht shortly after the crash - you can skip to the final part of the clip (you can head over to the 6:25 point) to see the tense moment.

Here are the Polizei contact details for those of you who can provide assistance

If you happen to be able to provide such info, here is the contact data for the authorities: Polizeipräsidium Koblenz, Tel: 02691/925-0, E-mail: Piadenau.Wache[at]Polizei.Rlp.De.
