Ubisoft’s latest car game, The Crew is currently taking the world by storm and since we’re all for cool video games we just couldn’t help but play it as well. So, while we were at it, guess what we discovered? The F10 M5 and Z4 GT3 are available for your own driving experience, but this time only in the virtual realm.
Sure, the early reviews are a bit harsh, claiming all sorts of things but we think it’s rather enjoyable. The open world functions close to what you see in some of the biggest metropolitan areas around the world every day. Ok, maybe we’re exaggerating a bit but you get the idea. The thing is, a lot of new games are not offering you the chance to play with your favorite BMW.
Having just two choice is not the perfect example of a great car game for BMW enthusiasts but you get the point. The one problem we have with the game, though, is not focused on the cars you get to drive but more on the way the AI acts around you and how the laws of physics are regarded.
You see, most of the time you’ll get the idea that you simply can’t win. And trust us, it’s not because of a lack of skill. Oh, no. While it might take you a couple of seconds to turn your car around, the AI will do that in a blink of an eye.
Furthermore, the Police is simply on Godlike levels and trying to outsmart them might make you reconsider what intelligence really is. There are good things too.
We like the randomness of it all. You’ll get to race and end up losing because of the most stupid reasons and that’s something that definitely happens in real life as well. You’ll understand what we mean when a train blocks your way to the finish line with seconds to spare…
