BMW’s most powerful car ever made is also a limited-run model. We’re talking about the special 30 Jahre Edition M5 that was launched just a few months back, fitted with a special version of the S63Tu engine that’s capable of sending 600 HP to the rear wheels.
Yes, you heard right! In case you’re not exactly on par with BMWs per say, you should know that this is the most powerful car they ever made. The torque figure is also impressive, at 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque. However, this is not the torquiest engine they have right now, that honor going to the N57S tri-turbo diesel plant on the F10 M550d xDrive and X5/X6 M50d models with 740 Nm (546 lb-ft).

Even so, compared to the standard M5, things look impressive, this model having 40 extra HP and 20 extra Nm of torque. That’s not the only thing that sets the two apart.

The special edition model comes only in the Individual Frozen Silver color, with the Competition Package bi-color wheels and a couple of other exclusive options like “30 Jahre M5” lettering on the front door sill finishers, black Alcantara/leather combination on the seats, Alcantara Anthracite trims on the centre console and door panels and so on.

That’s only what the eye can see, though. Under the skin, apart from the upgraded engine, lies the Competition Package (comprised of modifications including a revised chassis set-up with firmer spring/damper tuning and a 10-millimeter drop in ride height), Active M Differential, M-specific Servotronic and the M Dynamic Mode of the DSC.

All those added features make the limited edition M5 run up to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.9 seconds, the fastest car in BMW’s history in this regard. Unfortunately, the top speed is limited to 250 km/h (155 mph), 305 km/h (190 mph) with the MDM package.

One of the 300 ever built was just spotted in the Netherlands, in a town called Schiphol, according to the original post on Autogespot and we couldn’t just help but share it with you guys. Considering how rare this car is, it’s a miracle that its owner is actually driving it around town!
