Just a few hours set us apart from the world debut of the first ever BMW M4 and the car was just spotted on the city streets of Detroit, the place where it will be unveiled for the first time at a major auto show.
The car we’re looking at here is dressed up in Austin Yellow, the brand new color developed by BMW for this model exclusively, reminding us of another shade of yellow used on the last M3 that had an inline 6-cylinder engine. I’m talking about the E46 M3, of course, and its Phoenix Yellow paint.

The M4 though, comes into play more than 10 years after the E46 version was launched and, despite having almost the same displacement, it’s light-years ahead when it comes to performance.

The 3-liter biturbo engine makes 431 HP and 550 Nm of torque, being capable of sending the Coupe into a frenzy to 100 km/h (62 mph) that takes only 4.1 seconds when using the 7-speed DCT gearbox.
