It seems like the end of this hot season isn't a particularly happy one for US BWM M machine owners - if you though the M2 driver who crashed his Bimmer in California is having a bad time, we're here to show you an M4 owner who doesn't seem to have brought it on himself.
To be more precise, the M4 in question had its wheels stolen overnight, as we can see in this image (lens tip to Redditor Allferik for the pic).

The photo isn't accompanied by any details, though, so we don't know in which part of the US the theft occurred. And trying to guess that by using the 2000s Cadillac (probably a Deville) in the background of the photo, as another Redditor did, just won't cut it.

As strange as this may sound to some of you, wheel thefts are far from having been eradicated, despite the calendar showing the year 2016. And single-vehicle cases such as the one we have here might seem like child's play when compared to episodes that see dealerships targeted by burglars.

The most recent cases of mass wheel theft showed up last week, when a Chevrolet dealership in Texas had 48 vehicles on its lot targeted by criminals.

Using the ever-present white van, thieves managed to grab $200,000+ worth of wheels and tires, with many of the targeted vehicles being 2016 Camaros. However, the easy money crew didn't spare the other models.

As the owner of the M4 we have here may or may not find out upon inspecting his car, such incidents often lead to other damage. And while mild consequences have to do with scratches, such unfortunate happenings can also lead to considerably costlier brake disc issue.

Unfortunately, the theft, which targeted Peltier Chevrolet in Tyler, Texas, wasn't the only one of its kind, with a few dealerships in the state having gone through similar problems over the past few years.

Here's to hoping this BMW M4's insurance adventure doesn't turn into torture.
