BMW M4 GTS Spotted on the Nurburgring, Looks Like Production Ready to Us

Did you think BMW was only making the M6 GT3 work hard on the Nurburgring? No sir, the M4 GTS was also being put through its paces on the Ring and our spy photographers were at their stations.

So, what we're dealing with here is the same M4 GTS shown in Pebble Beach a couple of days ago, but in production version, not as a concept as it was introduced in Monterey.

How can we tell? That's simple, just have a look at the new LED taillights hiding under a little bit of camouflage and the similar golden/orange wheels of the GTS accompanied by the coloured front splitter.

Up until this point, BMW didn't reveal a full spec list for the M4 GTS but trust us to tell you one thing or two about the Bavarian.

To start with, the technology used to develop the M4 GTS includes water injection and OLED lighting. The first solution - that is, water injection - has been employed to lower the temperature in the combustion chamber and thus extending reliability and adding more potential for the turbochargers.

BMW started experimenting with this technology some time ago, and they even made a demonstration for the public using a 1.5-liter 3-cylinder engine delivering 218 horsepower fitted on a BMW 1 Series chassis. As you can imagine, the M4 GTS sports a higher power output, for now unknown as BMW are keeping their lips sealed.

But this doesn't mean the goodies should stop here. In case you didn't know, a new front splitter was included as well as a rear wing and both of them are adjustable, depending on your expectations for the race track.

Also, the hood is made out of CFRP now and a wider air intake found its way up front, which only means the 3.0-liter inline six twin-turbo engine can breathe better and deliver around 500 horsepower, while front axle lift is kept under control.
