Back in August, BMW announced it will introduce a new DTM car for the 2014 season, based on the all-new high-performance M4 model. Now, word has it the Germans are working on another race car that will be eligible for the 2014 TUDOR United SportsCar Championship as well as European FIA events.
According to World Car Fans, quoting a company insider, the new customer racer will be a "cost effective" car for racing teams that are looking for an affordable and user friendly competition ready vehicle.
It will reportedly cost about €65,000 ($88,300 / £54,900) and get motivation from an upgraded TwinPower 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine, while a standalone engine management system will allow it to deliver more than 500 Nm (368 lb-ft) of torque.
The new BMW M4 customer race car will become available in December.
