It was a sad weekend for BMW drivers out there. First, we saw a prototype G11 7 Series crashing into a Police van in Stuttgart and now we’re looking at a beautiful M4 hugging a tree. Now don’t get us wrong, we’re all for tree hugging but not with a car.
You see, automobiles have a tendency of showing little to no compromises when it comes to their structural rigidity. On the other hand, us, as humans, can bend, twist and turn freely. Not so much for the cars though...
Getting back to the matter at hand here, the M4 you see in the adjacent photos was being driven to the gas station by a mechanic, according to the source. Apparently, the car was being offered for test drives to women as a sign of celebration at the moment. None of them hurt the Bimmer during this time but when a mechanic sat behind the wheel, this happened.
As you can see in the photos, the road was pretty damp and with 431 HP and 550 Nm (406 lb-ft) of torque on the rear axle alone, it’s pretty easy for things to get out of hand. During our own time with the M4 we found that it’s really hard to keep it in check in anything but perfect conditions.
It’s a shame too as this particular model looks like it’s wearing a lot of performance parts on it, including the M stripes on the sides and the carbon fiber spoiler on the boot lid.
Judging by the looks of things, the car seems totaled, the engine bay being completely destroyed. Hopefully he had insurance and everything’s going to be sorted out, even though he’ll probably get a new car...
