The most recent exhaust specialist that threw its name in the BMW M4 tuning hat is Remus. The guys unveiled their exhaust system for the new M car recently and we have to admit that it’s one of the best sounding ones so far.
When the new M3 and M4 first came out, there were a couple of people that said they didn’t sound right but most of them compared the S55 plant with the S65 one that came before it and forgot that the new one is an inline 6-cylinder model while the older version was a V8. Of course, there was no comparison!

However, for an inline 6, the 3-liter biturbo engine under the bonnet of the M4 is more than satisfactory on the aural department. Get it in Sport mode and the flaps open, revealing a completely new character you never knew existed.

For some people, though, it’s never enough and we don’t blame them. To be honest, we’d like a little more volume and a meatier sound ourselves but not by much. The Remus exhaust offers just that.

Their system can be bought altogether or piece by piece. The X-pipe, for example, can be ordered separately for those that want simply more loudness. On the other hand, if you want just a different sound, you can get the sports exhaust that is showcased in the video below. You should know that the crosspipes aren’t homologated at the moment, while the sport exhaust is.

Another advantage is the pricing. The complete system is around $4,000 depending on which tailpipe trims you go for. The most expensive choice is the carbon one, at $4,445 but you can go as low as $3,800. In this price range, there’s basically no competition, as Akrapovic and Eisenmann options cost, on average, $2,000 more. You do the math.
