BMW’s upcoming i8 plug-in hybrid sportscar is probably to most anticipated production vehicle to be introduced at the Frankfurt Motor Show next month. It’s unique by both design and powertrain and we think BMW will score big with it.
“Would we get an M version of the i8?”, BMW enthusiasts asked after it was unveiled a couple of years back. Unfortunately the answer is no! At least not as a production car, but as a concept that will mark BMW’s 100 anniversary in 2016. However, the i8 could inspire a Nissan GT-R rival according to Georgian car designer Alexander Imnadze, who envisioned the 2015 BMW M3i Concept using styling cues from “old M3 series & new style of BMW i series”.
While the M3i looks stunning in these images, we’re aware this is all we’ll remain with at the end of the day. Hopefully, BMW will put out a similarly good looking concept car in 2016. And who knows, maybe the market will require a production version as well.
