BMW M3/M4 Stage 2 Kit from Dinan Brings 530 HP and 683 Nm to the Table

A couple of days ago we were telling you about a BMW M4 that puts down (at the wheels) 700 HP. In that case, the engine needed new turbos, a new tune, exhaust and a lot of added parts to be able to squeeze that much power out of its 6 cylinders. Now we’re showing you what Dinan has come up with.

After releasing a Stage 1 upgrade for the S55 engine aboard the new M3 and M4 models, the guys are releasing a Stage 2 kit that takes things even further.

If on the less hardcore version you get 42 extra horsepower and 47 extra lb-ft of torque, the new system takes the overall output at 530 HP and 504 lb-ft (683 Nm) of torque. That’s right, 100 extra HP just like that.

The kit doesn't include a new Dinan Free Flow exhaust and Carbon Cold Air intake, so at $2,749 it's not exactly a bargain. Add those two parts and you'll be spending $2,499 for the exhaust and another $1,999.00 for the air intake, both being necessary to unleash the full potential of the Stage 2 power kit. Not to mention that they both change how the M3/M4's sounds without any audio system trickery.

Usually when tuning your brand new car you end up losing your warranty. Dinan claims that won’t be the case and we tend to believe them as they are known to have an extremely close relationship with BMW already.

Furthermore, you won’t have any trouble with emission regulations as the Stage 2 kit is legal in 50 states. The best news is that if you already bought the Stage 1 kit you only have to pay the difference between the two and you’ll get the Stage 2 version. That means you only have to pay $250 extra and you’ll be set. You can’t beat that kind of value!
