BMW M3 GTS Gets the Green Light

Fans of the German brand will be glad to hear that BMW M GmbH announced today the debut of the BMW M3 GTS both on the racetrack and on the road. Based on the M3 coupe, the car is powered by a 4,361 cc V8 engine developed exclusively for the BMW M3, with a maximum power output of 331 kW/450 bhp and 440 Nm.

Performance figures reveal the car is able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds, while the top speed is rated at 305 km/h.

The BMW M3 GTS is finished in a bright orange paint with matt black exterior components such as the BMW kidney grille and roof trims, while the side gill elements are made of dark anodised chrome.

The car is lowered by 16 mm at the front and 12 mm at the rear. The stability control function DSC (Dynamic Stability Control) has also been tweaked, as well as the ABS and the M Dynamic Mode (MDM). The BMW M3 GTS is equipped as standard with a roll bar fitted behind the B-pillars and mixed tires on matt black, 19-inch M light alloy wheels featuring a Y-spoke design.

“The BMW M3 is an icon and internationally synonymous with the highest level of dynamics,”
explains Kay Segler, CEO of the BMW M GmbH. “Our aim was to develop a model variant that would prove its outstanding potential both on the road and at club sport racing events. The BMW M3 GTS is pure M feeling, embodying the brand values in a highly concentrated form.”

The market launch of the BMW M3 GTS for the German market was scheduled to take place in July 2010. The model will wear a price tag of 136,850 euros on the German market.
