BMW M3 Frozen Edition Available in South Africa

Now, “available” is a relative term, given the fact that the German manufacturer plans to produce only 25 units of this model. Dubbed BMW M3 Frozen Edition, the model is meant as a means for BMW to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the model in the African country and will be priced at almost R1.2 million.

Visually, the car will become available in two colors, Frozen Black and Frozen Grey, matched with red brake calipers, black leather with red stitching and gloss black 19 inch alloy wheels.

From the performance standpoint, the car will be tuned with AC Schnitzer parts, including exhaust pipe, intake manifold and a revised engine management system. Thanks to the tweaks, the car is now capable of developing 442 hp and 420Nm of torque.

As standard, the BMW M3 Frozen Edition will also be equipped with the M Dual Clutch Transmission as standard.

According to BMW South Africa, out of the 25 units to be produced, only eight will be released this year. The rest will be produced in the first quarter of 2011.

This is the second special edition BMW released in the past month for the South African market. The Dynamic Edition for the 3 Series was released in late July, based on the M Sport version of the 3 Series.

Available in three colors, Alpine White, Blue Water Metallic and Space Grey Metallic, the vehicle comes equipped with 18 inch alloy wheels, dark chrome tail pipes, Blue Shadow Cloth and alcantara upholstery with Royal Blue stitching.

300 units of the BMW 3 Series Sedan Dynamic Edition will be produced.
