BMW M3 Confiscated from Drug Dealer Displayed by UK Police

The British Police in Tameside, a metropolitan borough located east of Manchester, has found an impressive way of warning those who choose the illegal way in life that they’d better give up, showcasing a confiscated BMW M3 in front of the station.
The police station in Ashton-under-Lyne now displays a white BMW M3, which was confiscated earlier this year from a drug dealer who received a prison sentence of two years and three months.

"It’s not fair that law-abiding citizens are trying hard to make ends meet while local criminals are driving round in luxury cars. We will continue to target these individuals and publicise the results for all the public to see," Chief Superintendent Nick Adderley said.

The M3 was taken under the Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA), which allows law enforcers to confiscate anything with a value above GBP1,000 (around S1,500 or EUR1,150) if this has been obtained from illicit activities or will be used for this purpose.

Adderley ended by emphasizing the fact that the criminal are being hunted down: “The message is loud and clear. If you are involved in criminal activity look over your shoulder because we are coming to get you. We will put you before the courts and also hit you in the pocket where it hurts.
