Contrary to what everyone thought, the new BMW M3 and M4 made their European debuts at the Bruxelles Auto Show 2014 instead of Geneva. This came as a surprise, as the Belgian show is rather new compared to other venues.
The unveiling took place on January 16 and saw the two in the same colors as at Detroit: Yas Marina Blue for the M3 and Austin Yellow/Aurum Dust for the M4.

At the BMW stand, the usual ‘suspects’ were also on display, including the new i3, i8 and and some more M cars like the M6 and M6 Gran Coupe alongside the brand new F15 X5.

Furthermore, MINI was also present with their new Cooper model that will soon go on sale worldwide, introducing the first ever 3-cylinder turbocharged engine from BMW to the world.

Compared to the Brit, the M3 and M4 are using a twice as big engine, rated at 431 HP and 550 Nm of torque that’s capable of sending the two from standstill to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.1 seconds using the 7-speed DCT gearbox and 4.3 seconds using the standard 6-speed manual transmission.

Unfortunately, despite making their debuts on the old continent, the two won’t be available for purchase until June. That’s also the moment when the first test drives are scheduled so you’d better arm yourself with a lot of patience.
