BMW M235i Spied Testing on the Nurburgring, Again

It seems like BMW is looking to set new benchmarks with the M235i. The car that is supposed to hit the markets somewhere next year, has to be a worthy replacement for the incredible 1M Coupe.

That's why we understand their focus on track testing and dynamics. In this spy video, shot around August 13, the car is shown on the Nordschleife, testing like it's going to participate in a Formula 1 event.

The inline 6-cylinder engine is clearly audible, reaching the top range of its RPM limits, while the tires are screeching relentlessly. We even spot the car overtaking a Porsche Cayman, giving us a great feeling, of course.

The M235i will, most likely, be using the same 3-liter N55 engine with 320 HP (or maybe a bit more) with the same amount of torque, 450 Nm (332 lb-ft). This car could very well be a menace for the Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG, even with a different body type, especially if it turns out to be lighter than the 1 Series, a goal that is relentlessly pursued in the developing process.
