BMW M235i Misses Racer by a Hair on the Nurburgring: Possible Mechanical Failure?

One lucky driver that was out on the Nurburgring GP track managed to swerve his way out of the path of a BMW M235i in a millisecond. The whole thing was captured on camera and we still can’t believe how close things were.
The action took place in the first corner of the circuit, which is known around the racing world as an incredibly tight hairpin that sneaks up on you after a high speed straight. Basically, if you’re caught off guard at a high speed, you might end up face first into a tire wall.

If things go even further down south, an inexperienced driver could take one or more people with him on the way, a scenario that has happened before but not in this video. Over here, we can see that the camera car has one extremely sharp driver behind its wheel.

Noticing with the corner of his eye the BMW M235i approaching at a much too high velocity, our good man swerves just a little, enough to keep his course intact and avoid contact with the Bimmer.

The reason why this tragedy nearly happened in the first place is still unknown and one can only guess out of two possible scenarios. Number one and the most plausible is that the driver of the M235i didn’t know the track and, seeing as he made up good ground while the others were braking, he saw fit to push his luck. That never works out.

The second possible scenario would involve a mechanical problem that stopped him from braking. Judging by the second video posted below that includes footage captured by the rear-facing camera, the driver of the BMW doesn’t seem to brake at all, which would be valid in both cases anyway. Anyhow, we’re glad nobody got hurt as this whole thing could’ve gone down a lot worse.
