Our series of BMW racers caught while testing continue today with a batch of spyshots showing the M235i Racing being put through its paces on the Nurburgring.
After the M6 GT3 and the M4 GTS, BMW took a new track toy on the test track, namely the M235i Racing. Before going into specifics, allow us to take a moment from your precious time and tell you a thing of two about the BMW M235i Racing Cup, where this M235i will compete.

Since 2014, as part of the VLN and Nürburgring 24 Hours, BMW Motorsport provides a separate cup class for the BMW M235i Racing as a platform to promote the motorsport through Europe.

It's important to keep in mind this cup class is not a brand cup. That's because, with the BMW M235i Racing, BMW is offering customers a "cost-effective" entry-level model and a stage that they hope will bring more fans for this type of competitions.

Now, coming back to the BMW M235i Racing in question. We're looking at an updated version, and we know that because BMW engineers fitted the go-fast machine with a new spoiler. It's not just for show, as it will have the duty of keeping the coupé stuck to the ground during high-speed cornering.

Besides that, the racer could receive other improvements that target the chassis and the suspension system, but it's hard to talk about those by just looking at a set of pictures.

The model also features an aerodynamic body kit, as you can see in the photos, which makes the air flow smoothly along the racer's surface.

Under the hood lies a 3.0-liter six-cylinder in-line engine with M Performance TwinPower Turbo technology, capable of delivering 333 horsepower and 450 Nm (331 lb-ft) of torque. However, the racer could receive a new B58 engine, which should see power go up to around 350 horsepower, but there are no official hints in this regard.

Now, we don't know about you, but being a BMW customer doesn't sound bad at all from where we're standing.
