Just as we were saying a while back, the new BMW M2 will be available inside the Need for Speed world once the game is launched. The news was confirmed by the Germans and this marks the launch of the car in the virtual realm outside the photo gallery we’ve seen so far.
The latest title in the NFS franchise will be coming out on November 3 and it is highly expected by fans from around the world. The BMW M2 will be accurately detailed within the game’s world and it will star alongside other models from Bavaria including the BMW E30 M3 Evo II, BMW E46 M3, BMW E92 M3 and the new M4 Coupe.

“We’re delighted to be partnering with BMW, and especially to be premiering the BMW M2 Coupé in Need for Speed,” said Edd Newby-Robson, Senior Marketing Director, Ghost Games. “Close relationships with manufacturers has always been a key pillar for us to create the authentic experiences that our fans expect, and BMW have been incredibly supportive when it comes to helping us facilitate that.”

BMW is also excited about this launch according to Dr. Steven Althaus, the Director of BMW Brand Management and BMW Group Marketing Services. The official actually confirms that all of this is part of the Group’s marketing strategy. This way, the company is capable of presenting the car not only passively as an image but also interactively by a broad audience.

Since the actual car will arrive at the doorstep of its prospective owners in April 2016, this will be the closest you can get to actually driving it until then. Judging by its specs, it should also be pretty fast and enjoyable.

Its newly-developed 3-liter six-cylinder engine delivers 370 HP and up to 500 Nm (369 lb-ft) of torque. Full racetrack capabilities are assured by M Compound high-performance brakes and electronically-controlled Active M Differential, as well as the Dynamic Stability Control system’s M Dynamic Mode (MDM) for controlled drifts. How will they perform inside Need for Speed? It remains to be seen, but this one writer sure is curious about it!
