BMW’s M2 Coupe is no slouch, but you can make it a bit faster with the aid of these new M Performance parts.
The German carmaker had already released a few images of some components last fall, but it has now unveiled its entire range of M Performance parts for the M2 Coupe. As with all the M Performance parts, the range is not a package, so the customer can choose which parts to buy. So you can just get a sporty exhaust, or just a suspension kit and not worry about losing your warranty on your precious M2 or affecting the car’s dynamics in a bad way.

Let’s start with the aerodynamic parts, shall we? The offer includes front and side elements made of CFRP. Customers can order a rear diffuser, a discreet rear wing, and a set of mirror caps out of the same material. When installed together, BMW claims they improve the airflow of the M2 Coupe.

On the exhaust side, the M Performance range provides a sport exhaust system with an electronically controlled flap silencer. It comes with two operating modes: Sport and Track. The first mode is for road use, while the latter is intended for track use.

You can swap between the two patterns in a split second, thanks to the particular flap. The exhaust system is operated through Bluetooth and customers can choose between two different exhaust tips and pipe diameters. There’s a steel one with an 80 mm diameter, and another with a 93 mm diameter and a carbon fiber trim at the tip of the muffler.

However, for a true increase in performance, BMW offers a set of sport brake pads and a coil-spring suspension. The new pads are designed for high resistance to thermal stress and promise to eliminate fading under extreme use. Sounds promising to us. Meanwhile, the optional suspension reduces the ground clearance by at least five millimeters, and customers can adjust it to drop the ride height by an additional 20 mm.

The neat part isn’t lowering your BMW M2 senseless, but the 16 levels of adjustment in the rebound stage and the 12 levels in the compression stage. Thanks to these, the driver can get a tailored setup for the M2 Coupe and improve handling according to preferences if the settings are done correctly.

The interior parts for the M2 Coupe also feature CFRP components, along with other trim. The door sills can get LED ornaments, while the cockpit can be changed through a choice of two different steering wheels. The first of them is the M Performance wheel with a race display and carbon fiber trim. The latter is the M Performance Pro, that features Alcantara and a stiffer foam for improved grip. The M Performance Pro steering wheel also has a light blue central marking, and can also be ordered with open-pore carbon fiber trim elements.

Concerning interior trim, you can get the gear selector, center console, and handbrake lever in Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic, and other parts of the cockpit can be covered in Alcantara or leather, along with carbon fiber trim elements.
