Any crash involving a performance hero such as the BMW M2 is worth paying attention to, but the M Division machine-involving accident we have here gives us at least two additional reasons to zoom in on it.
While this isn't the M2's first crash (check out the piece of footage at the bottom of the page for an example of an earlier accident of this kind), it's still part of the early accidents.

Then there's the nature of the post-impact setup we can see in this image - lens tip to Redditor letSSgooo for the pic. As you've noticed, the poor M2 has gotten stuck on the median. And if drivers passing through the area had any chance of missing this painful sight, it was blown by the dangling-like state of the sportscar.

Speaking of which, the same Redditor explains that the unfortunate event took place in the San Mateo/Belmont part of the Bay Area. Come to think of it, it's not all that uncommon to see rear-wheel-drive vehicles losing battles with medians in California, but the stereotypical part of the internet has determined us to expect such vehicles to be Mustangs.

As for the driver, we don't have too much info, but the man who snapped the pic from inside his 2012 Camaro SS did uses his age recognition skills to report that "the guy who hopped out [of the BMW] couldn't have been older than 20,"

Judging by the superficial take delivered by this photo, the damage doesn't seem to be that serious. Nevertheless, such accidents often lead to hardly-visible engine bay and steering issues, so the insurance adventure following this accident could be a complicated one.

Oh well, at least there's no report of this M2 crash leading to an injury. And when the crashed car is more or less facing traffic coming the other way, that's no small feat.

P.S.: The BMW M2 crash you'll see in the clip below was recorded at Brazil's Autodromo Fazenda Capuava earlier this summer.
