The BMW M Performance Stripes have been around since the BMW E30 M3 entered its first race back in the 80s. However, most of the time they were applied to the cars by enthusiasts and not by professionals at BMW dealerships.
BMW just announced that the M Performance Stripes are now available for a wide range of cars including: 1 Series M Coupe, M3 Coupe, Convertible and Sedan, M5, M6 Coupe and Convertible and the 3 Series Coupe or Sedan with the M Sport Package.
According to BMW, these stripes "help to accentuate the already stunning performance of these cars with a bold and sporty visual statement". Some fans, however, beat BMW to it and took matter into their own hands.
We already saw someone in South Africa who got these stripes on his 1M Coupe but kind of over did it, covering almost all of his car. Furthermore, just a while back, another 1M Coupe owner, this time from Canada, went for this kind of treatment, at a wrapping company.
So, for those of you out there that fancy these stripes, the pricing starts at $175 for the Front/Rear design and goes up to $400 for the side stripes that can be applied only on the 1M Coupe, E92, E93 3 Series and the X5 M and X6 M.
