BMW recently announced that it will be offering a new M Performance Power Kit for N55 engines, for 2012 and newer 335i models. This, so-called PPK is supposed to give your car something around 20 extra HP and some more torque, depending on your transmission. An F30Post member installed the PPK as soon as it was available and this is what he found out.
First of all, the installation will take several hours. There are some differences between manual cars and automatic ones, excepting the torque increase. It seems that for the automatic gearbox versions the PPK includes a sport display change.

The new power levels will definitely not turn your car into an M3. You'll feel the extra power much better at high speeds instead of cruising. The 40-90 mph (65-144 km/h) pulls are done with a lot quicker and you will feel a noticeable kick in torque after 2,500 RPM.

Furthermore, the new M PPK will also change your exhaust sound. According to BMW, it's supposed to be "emotionally enticing" and completely change the way you perceive your car. However, changes are visible but not to that extent.

Bottom line, the M Performance Power Kit will definitely change your car. It gives it the extra power it needs to become an even more challenging contestant for the arch-rival S4, and will keep you going until the much-awaited release of the new M3.
