When BMW announced that it will be releasing M Performance Ceramic Brakes for certain vehicles in its line-up and especially the price at which they will be sold, some people claimed they lost their minds.
Sure, $10,000 looks like a lot of money but how much is your life worth? You'd say we went too far but actually, a recent video shows that such brakes are really useful, especially in emergency situations.
Gustav, from M5Board.com had a BMW F06 M6 Gran Coupe for a test drive for a couple of days. Being a curious person by nature, he tried to reach the car's top speed of 305 km/h (190 mph).
Just when he was about to hit that limiter, an RV decided to overtake a car, in a curve, on a German limitless autobahn. Imagine the surprise on Gustav's face… He slammed on the brakes and managed to avoid a dangerous situation (the numbers on screen in the first video talk for themselves).
Now, we're not saying that you should drive at 305 km/h (190 mph) but in case you need them, Ceramic Brakes might be worth the money.
