Being a German sure has its advantages these days. Apart from being extremely close to the headquarters of some of the best car brands in the world, you also get to understand what they say. That is the key to happiness, according to some.
To make ourselves better understood we should get to the point. BMW has a special section on their German website called Wiki8 that is absolutely fascinating. That’s if you know German, of course. On it, you get to read absolutely everything there is to know about the new car, from the production process to the first deliveries.

There are also plenty of videos of the car, explaining how it was developed and what BMW understands by ‘intelligent lightweight construction”, a concept that is often misunderstood.

That’s not all though. This ‘special Wikipedia’ also includes a section dedicated to the i8’s sister car, the i3. On it, the Germans go even further, explaining just how cheap it is to use an electric car, using precise mathematics.

This time too, the car’s construction is explained and the specs laid out clearly alongside a couple of unique features, available for the i3 alone at the moment, like the Smart Charging App and the X5 replacement car program in collaboration with Sixt.

All in all, it’s quite an interesting read, provided you know German, of course. If not, you can either wait for similar section to be launched on the US website or use Google Translate. Your choice.
