If you were looking to get a brand new 4 Series Gran Coupe or an M4 Convertible but didn’t exactly know what configuration you’d like, we have some good news for you. The configurators for the two are now online on BMW’s USA website.
The Gran Coupe is available only in 3 variations for now, the 428i, 428i xDrive and 435i and all of them come equipped with the automatic 8-speed ZF gearbox as the one and only transmission option.
Looking over the profile of the new ‘4-door coupe’, it actually makes sense, as this car is more of an elegant appearance rather than a track car. A manual will be available (as well as some diesel models) in Europe though. They are all available in 3 trim lines: Luxury, Sport and M Sport, the latter being the most expensive, at $3,500. Paying that much will get you access to the Estoril Blue paint, though, that can be ordered only with the M Sport line. Individual paints will allow you to dress up your car to your own preferences, though.
Prices start at $41,225 for the 428i, an extra $2,000 being required for the xDrive model, while the 435i starts at $45,800.
The M4 Convertible, on the other hand, is a different story. Using a 3-liter twin-turbo engine from the M division, making 431 HP and 550 Nm (406 lb-ft) of torque, the open top experience goes to a new level.
A different range of colors is also available, allowing you to pick from Sakhir Orange, Austin Yellow, Yas Marina Blue, Mineral Grey Metallic, Black Sapphire Metallic, Mineral White and Silverstone Metallic but also Alpine White if you prefer non-metallic paints.
You can also dwell in the Individual range if you feel like it, for a certain price, of course. Speaking of price, the M4 Convertible starts at $73,425 with handling and shipping but expect your dream car to cost a bit more after adding in all the preferred optional features.
