Together with publisher Hatje Cantz, BMW launched today the first ever comprehensive publication about the BMW Art Car Collection in the shape of a richly illustrated book.
Launched back in 1975 as a design exercise, the BMW Art Car collection grew to impressive numbers over the last 39 years, including the signature of worldwide artists such as Alexander Calder, Frank Stella, Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol, Ken Done, Matazo Kayama and many many others.

The book launched today covers the story behind each car and how it came to life together with various portraits and interviews that provide an insight into the creative process of all the artists involved.

The publication (ISBN 978-3-7757-3345-8; € 29,80) features 200 pages and 148 images and has a slip case designed by Schmid+Widmaier Design. The cover was designed by Jeff Koons. For more info check out the press release and the photo gallery posted below.
