The Japanese branch of BMW decided to celebrate 40 years of 3 Series excellence with a special model of the version that’s currently on sale. It was back in 1975 when the E21 3 Series was launched, and the legendary 2002 models pulled out of production, so it was only befitting to celebrate the event in one way or another.
Over the years, the compact sedan/coupe/touring models won the hearts of millions of drivers out there, and it seems like Japan is no different. Judging by the number of special editions launched by the German group in the land of the rising sun, it would seem like they only prefer bespoke models.
The M Sport Style Edge cars will be wearing the complete M Sport package as well as 18” wheels painted in a special kind of gray paint, M Performance black kidney grilles and M Performance pedal covers.
Customers will get a choice between three different options for the interior. You can either go with Sensatec artificial leather, proper Dakota leather or the M Performance package that brings the unique hexagonal design to focus.
As far as trims are involved, Piano Black with Pearl Accents is the way to go if you ask us, but there are other choices on the table as well. The best news is that the M Sport Style Edge can be had on Sedan and Touring models but only 320i and 320d guises with or without xDrive.
The 320i Sedan starts at JPY5,440,000 ($45,346), followed by the 320i Touring model with a price tag of JPY 5,660,000 ($47,176), the 320d sedan with a price tag of JPY5,670,000 ($47,256), 320d Touring for JPY5,890,000 ($49,087), 320i xDrive Sedan for JPY5,750,000 ($47,920) and the 320i xDrive Touring for JPY5,970,000 ($49,756).
