R nineT, the last "airhead" BMW motorcycle using the old, air- and oil-cooled boxer engine, has been designed from the ground up to be an excellent platform dedicated to customization.

Both BMW Motorrad and an increasing number of custom parts manufacturers among which Roland Sands Design, have started crafting specialized product lines for the bike, in an attempt to fulfill the owners' dreams.

Hand-brushed, gloss-varnished and with visible or smoothed welding seams options look great

BMW's attempt to deliver a true neo-classic bike have been successful thanks to blending retro cues with modern design language. This proved to be a very lucrative basis for those creating aftermarket parts, including the Bavarians themselves.

The new tanks are identical to the stock ones in terms of shape, volume and weight but boast exclusive looks. With each tank being actually hand-brushed, there are no two identical ones. If you like smooth surfaces, you might want to go for the ones with the smoothed out welding signs. If rougher looks are your thing, you can decide in favor of the other model, which shows off the welding marks like a spinal cord atop of the tank.

Despite being hand-crafted, these new tanks meet the highest BMW Motorrad quality standards. They have received worldwide approval and will be available at BMW Motorrad partners around the world from May.

They are available for €1,695/$1,830 (with visible welding seam) and €1,795/$1,940 (with smoothed welding seam). The prices are for Germany and include the 19% VAT. Around the world, they may vary.
