BMW Intermarine 55 Luxury Yacht Ready for Launch

As one of the globally recognized leaders in terms of design, the BMW Group DesignworksUSA took its business, long time ago, well beyond the confines of automobile creation. Perhaps one of the most well-known side business of the group is the creation of yachts.

The latest creation of the DesignworksUSA, developed together with yacht builder Intermarine, is the Intermarine 55 luxury yacht, a 57-feet-long wonder for use on the water, presented earlier this year for the first time. To be launched this summer, the yacht promises to bring a new line of boats to life.

Built to carry six people and a sailor, the 55 can be equipped with a choice of two power trains, created to suit the speed needs of the future owners. The first power train is comprised of 2, 670 hp endurance engines, while the second is a pair of 800 hp power units.

In the case of the former, the cruising range stands at 350 nautical miles, while the top speed is rated 31 knots. The more powerful combination provides 300 nautical miles range and a top speed of 35 knots.

The yacht will be sold by Intermarine, complete with two head compartments, a master suite, three cabins, a galley and two bathrooms for $2.2 million. The yacht will become available to buyers this July.

“Intermarine is a famous connoisseur brand with a rich history, and to evolve its design forward with the Intermarine 55 is an honor,”
said Laurenz Schaffer, BMW Group DesignworksUSA president.

“We’re eager to share the Intermarine 55 with the world when examples begin setting sail later this year, and likewise to continuing the evolution of this design story with the unveling of upcoming yachts for Intermarine.”
