The Chinese will have to wait until November and the Guangzhou Auto Show to witness the greatness of the i8 in person but BMW is already testing the new car in Beijing. Not only that but charging stations are put to the test also, to make sure everything will be set once the time comes.
The i8 was spotted testing on public roads in the northwestern part of the suburbs of Beijing with Chinese license plates. The plug-in hybrid sports car will be available on the biggest automotive market in the world starting with early 2014.
We, as the rest of the world probably, think that the i8 will be a great success in China, especially thanks to the low emissions that will help with the unbelievable smog that is gathering in the communist country's big cities.
The performance levels are also incredible whilst the design makes this car an instant classic. Most likely, the i8 will be arriving to China at the same time as the i3, another possible big seller for CO2 concerned drivers.
