BMW i8 Shooting Brake Looks Perfect, Has Wide Arches

BMW i8 Shooting Brake rendering 1 photo

Nowadays, car configurators are as normal as ice cream. And the same can be said about renderings that portray real-world cars in forms their makers never intended. So what happens if we mix the two? Well, we're here to deliver an answer to that question, one that involves the BMW i8.
No, I haven't found somebody who was hyped enough to create a fully functional configurator for a fantasy build based on a showroom car. Instead, I have the next best thing, namely the third incarnation of a project that transforms the electric Bimmer into a shooting brake.

Take a good look at the orange i8 S/B in the image we have here - those of you who are tuned into our rendering tales will probably experience deja vu. That's because we've already discussed the imaginary machine in other attires.

It all started back in April, when a white incarnation of the car was introduced (given that this was the launch spec of the actual gas-electric sportscar, the hue was only fitting). Later that month, a black example of the i8 Shooting Brake was rendered.

So you can now choose your favorite spec for this machine that will probably never be build, not even by some eccentric shop out there.

First of all, the mid-engined configuration of the i8 means the S/B body would only add some luggage room, but wouldn't actually brings the necessary extra space for the rear passengers (those seats are cramped, as I found out while reviewing the hybrid).

Secondly, the CFRP structure of the BMW i8 means messing with its lines would require serious work.

Nevertheless, Yasid Oozeear, the digital artist behind the work, deserves a round of applause for the elaborate pixel play. After all, this kind of shenanigan can be considered a virtual dream (enjoy during the day or through the night, moderation is not reccesary).
