Apparently, all the extensive testing BMW is putting its cars through isn’t for nothing. Not that we ever thought it would be, but for some people these testing sessions might seem like a bit too much.
Just earlier this year, during a test session back in March, one of the numerous Nurburgring spotters caught an interesting detail while filming a BMW i8.

The car was doing laps on the famous circuit, in the usual, pedal to the metal style of BMW. At one point, though, the i8 was pulled over to the side after being driven incredibly slow (by Nurburgring standards, at least).

According to the spotter, it must’ve been a problem with the brakes as the driver was seen pressing the brake pedal repeatedly while being stationary.

However, after a break of about 15 minutes, he drove off, slowly, as if something was truly wrong, the spotted following him in his personal car to the Nurburgring BMW HQ.

This goes to show, once again, that no test is extensive enough and that issues may occur when least expected. BMW, however, did rise to fame thanks to its viability in the past and we’re expecting the same level of engineering greatness and precision from the Bavarians today as we did a couple of years ago, even though the cars they’re selling now are more complex than ever.
