What does sold-out mean, when you’re talking about a car that didn’t even go on sale yet? That’s what we want to know, as BMW’s Sales Chief, Ian Robertson claims that the i8 is already sold-out for 2014.
Let’s think about it. We have two alternatives here: either the BMW people are lying or they’re telling the truth, which is even more impressive.
If the latter proves to be the correct choice, that also has two possibilities: they are limiting the number of i8 models that will be sold or, they can only build a limited number of cars in their plants and all of them have been accounted for.
Either way, Ian Robertson is not a liar. Everything he said before came true and that means that, after the huge success the i3 recorded (over 10,000 units being already ordered), the i8 follows in its footsteps, even though it will be launch on the market next year.
