Green may be the path we should old take fast if we want to make sure there’s some breathable air left for future generations, but that doesn’t mean petrolheads are that easy to convince. Big players in the biz need to find ingenious ways to inspire the eco-conscious culture to the mass, and it appears BMW is choosing fashion as one of the means to do it.
We were just telling you guys about Angela Merkel’s visit to the Frankfurt Motor Show and how Germany’s Federal Chancellor has made sure everybody sees the importance she gives to green cars. Our photogs found that the German leader was mainly checking out revolutionary new plug-in vehicles. After all, Deutsch car manufacturers have spent billions on the development of greener automobiles.

This time around, however, we’d like to discuss a different matter, other than politics and economics, even though they are those who run the game. Environmentalists take the form of fashion today, as German sisters Daniela and Annette Felder, of London-based design duo Felder Felder, have received a couple of BMW i3s. You need not worry, though, the outcome is quite interesting.

Apparently, the collaboration between the eco-conscious designers and BMW’s i branch is a premiere and sees the twins using the electric fleet during the much anticipated London Fashion Week show.

Other than the colorful design, BMW also managed to convince the sisters to travel by car, considering they regularly use a bike for commuting around the busy capital.

As you will observe in the photo gallery bellow, the hero print for the forthcoming Spring/Summer season has a tropical feel, inspired by exotic wildlife – a look set to lead the style takers next year. Here’s how Daniela and Annette Felder comment on their BMW i3 venture:

As we spend a lot of time in Miami, we are naturally influenced by the way of life there. Miami has one of the biggest flocks of wild flamingos in the world. We wanted to bring some Miami sunshine to rainy London!
