It seems like BMW is no longer Apple exclusive. The German Group just unveiled a new BMW i Remote App for Android systems at the 2014 Consumer Electronics Show. The partner they chose for this new endeavor was Samsung.
To be more precise, the Samsung Galaxy Gear (a new kind of smart-watch that connects to your Samsung Galaxy S4 Smartphone) was used to display and allow you to control various aspects of your i3, just like the BMW i Remote App does on the iPhone.
The whole design of the software installed on the prototype Galaxy Gear watch uses the same theme as the one inside the i3 iDrive system and has various submenus that allow you to open or close the windows, informs you if your doors or sunroof are open, the range of the EV, the navigation route you can follow and even regulate the climate on board. More information in the press released posted below.
