June's been here for 10 days now and we've been waiting for the May numbers for quite a while. The BMW Group reported its sale numbers for the previous month and, once again, they reached record-breaking levels.
A total of 166,397 BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce automobiles were sold worldwide in the 5th month of 2013, registering a 6% increase compared to the same period of 2012.

For the first 5 months of the year, the combined sales reached a total of 770,025, a 5.8% increase, breaking another record, becoming the most profitable 5 months of a year in the company's almost 100 years of history.

However, some markets reached even double-digit growth like the Asian market that grew by 13.4 percent (Japan grew by 16.2% whilst South Korea grew by 11.3%). The biggest numbers were registered in China though, as expected. In the communist country, BMW sold 31,938 units of the 46,838 that were sold on the entire continent.

The US market was profitable too, sales reaching 31,174 vehicles, 10.1% more than in the same month of 2012, whilst the total sales for the first 5 moths of the year reached a total of 139,142 BMW and MINI vehicles (a 6.3 percent increase).
