BMW Gets in Shape for the Shanghai Auto Show

As one of the biggest auto shows in China approaches, the Shanghai Auto Show, foreign manufacturers are slowly beginning to unveil the products which they will bring to the event in the hope of capturing more and more of the huge market the Chinese one proves to be.

As one of the main contenders to the title of China-favorite, BMW had no chance to miss the Shanghai event. The German manufacturer will bring there all its latest products, including concepts and electric vehicles that will shape its future in the country.

At the top of the list will be the BMW Concept M5, a high-performance sedan powered by a V8 engine with M TwinPower Turbo Technology. The car is wrapped in a Chrome Shadow body and features several enhancements made to identify it as an M: discreet spoiler located on the boot lid, a diffuser into the rear apron, a redesigned M-type grill element on the front side panel and 20-inch forged rims.

The M5 concept will be accompanied on display by the 6 Series Coupe, a model which will make its global premiere at the Chinese event. BMW promises this model will be a unique combination of aesthetics, luxury, and innovative technology.

Another concept that will make its entrance for the first time, this time on the Chinese auto scene, will be the Vision ConnectedDrive, which has already been shown at the Geneva Auto Show in March. Alongside it will stand the ActiveE, one of the models that will form the basis of the BMW Chinese strategy in the future.

The production version BMWs will be represented in Shanghai by the 1 Series Coupe and the 1 Series Convertible, which will make their Asian premiere at the Shanghai show.
