Starting Sunday, covering 5,000 kilometers (3,000 miles) and testing both prime and option tires, the last DTM Testing Session of the year from the BMW Motorsport team took place on the Jerez de la Frontera circuit, in southern Spain until yesterday.
The program allowed Augusto Farfus (BR), Bruno Spengler (CA), Timo Glock (DE), Joey Hand (US), Martin Tomczyk (DE) and Maxime Martin (BE) to try out everything they couldn’t in the 2013 DTM Championship and the engineers to set their imagination free regarding new testing methods. Red Bull Junior, António Félix da Costa (PT) and Jens Klingmann, also got behind the wheel of a DTM M3 for the first time here.
“After the season finale in Hockenheim and my first DTM win, it was a great feeling to get back in the car for the test. We had fantastic weather in Jerez and got through a lot of laps. I drove over 700 kilometres on Tuesday alone. We were able to try a lot of things out and make some valuable findings,” said Timo Glock, BMW works driver.
