The story that took the BMW community by storm not too long ago was the rumor that the Germans could eventually build an M3 Touring version after all these years. Immediately we told you that won’t be happening and officials from Munich quickly dismissed all of these unfounded claims. However, that won’t stop us from dreaming, right?
The guys from RC82Workchop must be some of those actually looking forward to combining the practicality of a Touring model with the performance of the M3. Therefore, they put together a rendering of how an M3 Touring could look like, no matter what Carsten Preis says.

The development chief of the M division recently said that there’s no demand across the globe to justify investing in another M3 model. Of course, Central Europe would get the biggest cut of the sales as that’s where it will be most popular but that’s about it.

And for a car to be developed for such limited sales simply isn’t a possibility at BMW right now, not after they just invested around €2 billion in bringing out the i sub-brand and its i3 and i8 cars. With sales of the former not going according to plans, the company is currently really tight with the funds.

But how good would a BMW M3 Touring be? It could become a proper rival for the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG T-Modell as well as the Audi RS4 the two sport wagons that share this market all by themselves at the moment. Just imagine having your kid’s bike in the back and some formula for your youngest daughter next to it in the boot and smoking other drivers in short drag races on your way to pick up the kids from the school. That’s the ultimate sleeper!
