BMW F32 435i Review by MotorTrend

Changing the long-lasting name of 3 Series Coupe into a banal-sounding 4 Series was a daring move from BMW. Now, it's up to the journalists and buyers to have their say and decide if it was a smart move or a terribly wrong one.

MotorTrend attended the launch of the M Performance Parts in Portugal, at the Estoril track and shot a video testing the brand new, top of the line BMW 435i, in Sport guise.

As usual, even Carlos Lago was short of adjectives to perfectly describe the car's drivetrain made out of the legendary N55 engine and its 306 HP and the 8-speed ZF gearbox. As other said before, the gear changes are quick and flawlessly done, reminding you of other, dual-clutch units.

Talking performance, the car feels fast and offers a lot of grip, to the farthest extent of the track. Even with the traction control systems deactivated, they still found a lot of grip on the track, a thing you wouldn't expect from a luxury coupe. However, this is no ordinary luxury coupe, it's a BMW, thus the aforementioned character.

Bottom line, there was nothing that Carlos could find wrong with the car. It's fast, low, agile and wide, exactly as you'd expect. The only possible problem with it is the name and on that we will not comment.
