The guys from MotorTrend are on a roll. They tested the F30 3 Series with a twist. The car they had was fitted with a M Performance Power Kit and an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
This means that the model they had is the fastest you can get, taking back the title from the BMW 335d xDrive. How come? Their test showed that the 335i xDrive with the PPK installed will do 60 mph (100 km/h) in 4.4 seconds from a stand still, the same as the manual E90 M3!
That is quick! Furthermore, this was achieved without the Launch Control feature that will soon be available on all 3 Series models fitted with the ZF 8-speed auto. With such a feature, the 335i M PPK will be catching up to Audi's S4 that is now 0.4 seconds faster. We'll just have to wait and see what the launch control will bring to the table.
