Car and Driver Magazine organized a special section dedicated to taking cars in various classes for a so-called "Lightning Lap" around the Virginia International Raceway.
They have 5 classes ranging from LL1 (which is for cars that are priced up to $29,999) to LL5 (cars that cost above $240,000). There is one other special class called the LLOINK (yeah, we know, it sounds funny) which is destined for Law-Enforcement Vehicles.

This time, it was the F30 335i's turn to go for a lap. The 300 HP 3er is included in the LL2 Class which is destined for cars with price tags from $30,000 to $59,999. That being said, the LL2 Class is made up of the Camaro SS 1LE, the BMW 335i and the Camaro ZL1.

The new 3 Series was the least powerful car in this class, the Camaros being a lot more powerful. The SS 1LE has a 426 HP V8 while the ZL1 has 550 HP coming out of a 6.2-liter supercharged V8.

The Bimmer feels small, light and agile and simply makes you feel why BMW uses the same motto for years now: "Sheer driving experience". The fact that you can enjoy a sedan so much on a race track and then go out and take your family for a ride around town really makes this car amazing.
